For the first time since 2004 the Los Angeles Lakers are heading back to the NBA Finals!! Oh what a show it's going to be. Last night's game was one to remember. I went to the gym for a bit and while watching the game there the start of the game for the Lakers was brutal. Spurs jumped out to a 15 point lead and the Lakers couldn't hit a shot or stop the Spurs. This being game 5 i wanted the Lakers to end the series now and not have to go back to San Antonio for a game 6.
Then as the end of the first half was approaching the Lakers went on a run which they have seemed to do all series and got to within 6 points of the Spurs by halftime. The Lakers stayed close in the second half and then the one and only entered the mix..Kobe Bean Bryant aka the Mamba. Kobe started demanding the ball each time down the court. First a long three over Bruce Bowen, driving layup around duncan, then an impressive fadeaway over Duncan where he seemed to stay in the air forever. Kobe willed the Lakers to this decisive win with his play in the fourth quarter. That is why he is the best player in the league. It is awesome watching a great player take over games. No one does it like Kobe. He has that killer instinct.
The finals will be great. Whether its the Lakers or the Pistons I think ratings will be high. And of course it will be great to see Kobe fighting for another championship. He is soo close now that he will elevate his game to yet another unseen level and it is something I am really looking forward to seeing.
